The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Apapa Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, has urged officers to intensify revenue generation, strengthen anti-smuggling operations, and uphold discipline and professionalism in service delivery.
Speaking during the Command’s monthly parade on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Apapa headquarters in Lagos, Oshoba stressed the need for operational vigilance across terminals to block revenue leakages while ensuring seamless trade facilitation and timely cargo clearance.
“Officers must protect the reputation of the Service. Any delay concerning duly exited consignments will not be tolerated, even at the gates,” he warned.
He further charged officers to remain accessible and professional in their dealings with stakeholders, cautioning against misconduct and improper dressing.
Highlighting the importance of vigilance against illicit drugs and prohibited items, Oshoba emphasized that officers must avoid actions capable of tarnishing the Service’s image.
The parade also featured recognition of outstanding officers and units. Assistant Comptroller Ismail Mohammed was named Most Outstanding Officer of the Month, while CSC Augustine Ondoma, ASCI Bukola Olaleye, and IC Olalekan Salawu were honored for professionalism, innovation, and punctuality.
In addition, APM Terminal officers received the Excellence Award on Enforcement, while EKO SUPPORT Terminal officers were recognized for Excellence in Revenue Generation.
Oshoba explained that the award initiative was introduced to foster hard work, excellence, professionalism, and healthy competition among officers and units of the Command.
