The President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Christians in Nigeria and across the world on the celebration of Easter.

In his message, Comrade Bunu emphasized the significance of Christ’s resurrection, which symbolizes victory over death and redemption from sin. He urged mankind to uphold the legacy of Jesus Christ, who sacrificed His life out of love for humanity, preaching peace, tolerance, forgiveness, and compassion.

He reminded Christians that love and forgiveness remain the true essence of Christianity, as demonstrated by Christ through His works of healing, miracles, and acts of kindness. Bunu called on believers to rekindle these values during Easter, stressing that only through love and forgiveness can the world become a better place.

Acknowledging the resilience of Christians in Nigeria amid persecution and insurgency, he encouraged them to persevere, affirming that “the battle is the Lord’s.” He also appealed for unity among Christians and Muslims, urging both faiths to celebrate together as brothers and sisters created by the Almighty God.

Finally, Comrade Bunu expressed gratitude to Christians worldwide and reached out to the needy, praying for peace, love, and forgiveness to reign across nations.
