The Federal Government of Nigeria has congratulated Dr. Dayo Mobereola, Director General of NIMASA, for his pivotal role in Nigeria’s election into Category C of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council for 2026–2027.
Hon. Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, praised Dr. Mobereola’s strategic leadership and effective engagement with IMO Member States, which secured Nigeria’s resounding victory in London.
Dr. Mobereola expressed gratitude to the Minister, NIMASA staff, and stakeholders, reaffirming the Agency’s commitment to advancing maritime safety, security, environmental protection, and capacity development.
Nigeria’s election is a strategic gain that strengthens its global maritime standing and aligns with NIMASA’s statutory responsibilities.
