The Federal Government has reopened the Tsamiya Border Corridor in Kebbi State to strengthen border governance and facilitate legitimate trade. Comptroller-General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi, during a stakeholders’ engagement on February 7, 2026, emphasized coordinated inter-agency collaboration to counter organized criminal networks.
The corridor will operate under enhanced ICT monitoring, strict agent profiling, and surveillance of goods in transit. Trucks found outside approved routes will be seized, with offenders prosecuted.
Governor Nasir Idris pledged Kebbi State’s support through logistics, infrastructure, and community engagement. The event drew security agencies, traditional leaders, economic operators, and customs officials from Niger and Ben confidence in renewed cooperation to boost regional trade and security.
