The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) kicked off the 2025 Comptroller-General’s Conference with a bold challenge from CGC Adewale Adeniyi who challenged senior officers to confront internal inefficiencies and instill a culture of discipline and strategic coordination.
The conference kicked off on 20 November, 2025 at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja with the theme “Building Future Partnerships: Lessons from the Customs-PACT Conference”.
Fresh off the heels of the successful Customs Partnership for African Cooperation in Trade (C-PACT) Summit, Adeniyi urged the Service to replicate the same level of rigor and unity internally. “You can’t sustain external credibility without internal integrity,” he declared, calling for honest introspection and decisive action.
The CGC emphasized that the principles behind the C-PACT Summit’s success—weekly coordination, unified messaging, and disciplined execution—must become permanent fixtures in the Service’s operational DNA. He reminded attendees that during the 16-week lead-up to the summit, failure was never an option.
The two-day conference promises dynamic panel discussions, provocative presentations, and open dialogue where hierarchy takes a back seat to ideas. The goal: to forge a stronger, more agile Customs Service ready to lead both at home and across the continent.
