The stage is set for one of Nigeria’s most anticipated transport policy dialogues as the Global Transport Policy (GTP) Annual Multimodal Roundtable Conference opens this Wednesday morning at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
This high-profile gathering will bring together government officials, policymakers, industry leaders, academics, logistics experts, technology innovators, media practitioners, and international development partners.
With the theme “Transforming Nigeria’s Transport Architecture”, the conference will deliver robust discussions, innovative ideas, and practical solutions to reposition transport as a catalyst for economic growth and sustainable development. Confirmed international partners include the European Union, African Union, African Development Bank, ECOWAS, and other key institutions committed to advancing infrastructure across Africa.
At a pre-conference briefing, GTP Chief Consultant and CEO of Widescope Logistics International, Dr. Segun Musa, said the roundtable will confront barriers to a functional multimodal transport system, including weak policy implementation, inadequate political will, and shortage of competent technocrats.
Musa emphasized that efficient transportation is central to food security, manufacturing competitiveness, and controlling inflation. He urged policymakers to prioritize transport reforms to unlock supply chain efficiency and drive economic growth.
