The Indorama Unit workers of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) have formally expressed their appreciation to President-General Comrade Francis Bunu Abi for his pivotal role in securing the signing of their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with Indorama Company (OIPL) at the FOT, Onne Port Complex, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In a letter jointly signed by Unit Chairman, Comrade Obarijima, and Secretary, Comrade George O. Moses, the workers praised Comrade Bunu for his attentive leadership and responsiveness to workers’ concerns, his unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare, and his refusal to compromise on issues affecting workers’ rights.
They emphasized that workers’ contributions to national economic growth must always be valued and respected.
The workers highlighted that the Union’s diplomatic approach, combined with Comrade Bunu’s genuine intentions, were instrumental in achieving the successful conclusion of the CBA. His transparent leadership was described as the cornerstone of the agreement’s success.
The agreement was recognized as mutually beneficial, ensuring enhanced welfare and protection for workers, as well as sustainable growth and stability for Indorama as a company.
The unit expressed gratitude to the Union and its President-General for their transparent and committed leadership, and the management of Indorama for their sincerity of purpose throughout the negotiation process.
They concluded with prayers for continued success, strength, and prosperity for the Union, its leadership, and Indorama.
