The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a new adjustment in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), setting the gantry price at ₦799 per litre and the pump price at ₦839 per litre across MRS filling stations nationwide.
During the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations, the refinery had temporarily reduced prices to ease household expenses at gantry price of ₦699/litre and pump price at ₦739/litre.
Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, personally pledged to enforce the lower festive prices, citing affordability and curbing manipulation in the downstream sector.
With the holiday season concluded, the refinery explained that prices have now been “modestly realigned to sustainable levels” to support long-term market stability.
CEO David Bird confirmed that the refinery continues to supply 50 million litres of PMS daily to the domestic market. Distribution nationwide remains stable, with the refinery’s flexible design enabling processing of diverse crude feedstocks even during maintenance.
The refinery criticized some oil marketers for failing to reflect the festive price cuts at their pumps, thereby denying Nigerians the intended relief.
This marks the second consecutive festive season where Dangote absorbed high costs in the national interest — logistics support in 2024 and price reductions in 2025.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery emphasized its role as a domestic stabilizer, shielding Nigeria from import-related volatility and ensuring availability of the product.
The refinery reaffirmed its mission to deliver energy security, price stability, and long-term value for Nigerians.
