The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt II Command, has recorded a landmark achievement by exceeding its 2025 revenue target. With a goal of ₦700.01 billion, the Command collected an impressive ₦731.2 billion—representing 104.46% of its target.
In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Theophilus P. Duniya, this success was credited to the strategic leadership of Comptroller Aliyu M. Alkali. His effective implementation of the Comptroller-General’s policy direction and deployment of the indigenous Unified Customs Management System (B’ODOGWU) significantly enhanced cargo clearance efficiency.
Key drivers of the Command’s performance included strict adherence to standard operating procedures, high levels of officer discipline, and continuous stakeholder engagement.
Comptroller Alkali expressed appreciation to the NCS leadership, led by Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for fostering an enabling environment. He also acknowledged the vital role of stakeholders in achieving this milestone.
The Command’s enforcement efforts were equally commendable. Officers intercepted 75 containers with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦47.6 billion. Notably, 30 of these containers were found to contain expired, illicit, and unregistered pharmaceutical products, while others violated various customs regulations.
Comptroller Alkali lauded his officers for their professionalism and unwavering commitment to national service. He emphasized that these seizures serve as a deterrent to would-be violators and reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to facilitating legitimate trade while upholding integrity and enforcing customs laws.
