The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service marked a significant milestone on Friday, December 5, 2025, with a formal handover ceremony welcoming Deputy Comptroller B.L. Adigun as the new Acting Customs Area Controller. He succeeds Assistant Comptroller General E.J. Edelduok, who has been elevated to the Service’s management team.
Held at the Command’s conference hall, the event was attended by senior customs officers, representatives of partner agencies, and key stakeholders, all gathered to witness the smooth and dignified transfer of leadership in accordance with the Service’s time-honored tradition.
In her farewell remarks, ACG Edelduok expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Comptroller-General and the management team for the opportunity to lead at KLT. She described her tenure as both rewarding and impactful, attributing the Command’s progress to teamwork, professionalism, and unwavering stakeholder support. She encouraged continued cooperation with her successor to sustain the Command’s momentum.
In his inaugural address, Deputy Comptroller Adigun thanked the Service’s leadership for their trust and praised his predecessor’s exemplary leadership. He pledged to build on the Command’s achievements, emphasizing priorities such as enhanced revenue generation, streamlined trade facilitation, strengthened anti-smuggling operations, and upholding operational integrity.
