The Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, has officially approved the appointment of Barrister Adenike Adeyele Iyelolu as the Registrar of Ships for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Her four-year tenure follows the recommendation of Dr. Dayo Mobereola, Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). In accordance with the NIMASA Act of 2007, the Registrar of Ships is appointed from within the Agency’s staff and reports directly to the Director General to ensure the effective management of the Nigerian Ship Registry.

Barrister Iyelolu, currently serving as Deputy Director at NIMASA, brings over 25 years of post-call experience in maritime law, arbitration, procurement, contract administration, corporate governance, and institutional leadership.

Her appointment succeeds the retirement of Barrister Tajudeen Giwa, who served with distinction as Registrar of Ships.
