In a strategic move to enhance inter-agency collaboration and regulatory compliance, Comptroller Aliyu M Alkali, Customs Area Controller of Port Harcourt II Area Command, has embarked on a series of high-level visits to key stakeholders operating within Onne Sea Port.
According to CSC Theophilus P Duniya, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the visits included meetings with: Omerio Mathias Odo, Commander of Narcotics, NDLEA Port Harcourt Ports Command, Director of State Security, Port Harcourt Ports Command, and Rear Admiral Victor D Choji, Commandant, Nigerian Navy Basic Training School Onne.
During these engagements, Comptroller Alkali emphasized the importance of synergy, intelligence sharing, and teamwork among government agencies to achieve shared objectives. He reaffirmed his commitment to the Comptroller-General of Customs’ policy pillars of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.
The controller noted that active engagement with stakeholders builds strong relationships and promotes compliance with existing regulations, adding that he’s committed to strengthening these ties and request robust synergy from all partners.
Stakeholders responded with pledges of support. The NDLEA Commander restated his commitment to working closely with Customs to curb illicit drug trafficking while the DSS Director assured of timely intelligence sharing to support Customs operations. The Navy Commandant reaffirmed the Navy’s dedication to maritime security and pledged continued support within the legal framework.
These ongoing visits reflect Comptroller Alkali’s proactive leadership style and dedication to enhancing revenue collection, regulatory compliance, and port security through sustained stakeholder engagement.
