The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara mni, has charged the newly inaugurated officials of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Katsina State Television (KTTV) Chapter to initiate project that will serve as a legacy when they leave office.
The monarch gave the charge while speaking shortly after inaugurating the new officials of the KTTV Chapel of the NUJ for a tenure of three years.
Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, who is the Grand patron of the NUJ KTTV Chapter, advised the new officials to ensure they leave memorable legacy behind after office.
The traditional ruler also called on the management of the Television Station to intensify efforts on training and retraining of staff to meet global best practices and urge working journalists to always balance their stories and confirm source to avoid spreading fake news. While congratulating the newly inaugurated officials the Grand Patron urged them to justify the confidence repose on them by their members.
The inaugurated officials include Aminu Garba Dandagoro as chairman, Ahmed Mukthar Yantaba vice chairman, Yasir Abubakatr Secretary, Abdulaziz Salisu Financial Secretary, Mustapha Dahiru Mani Assistant Financial Secretary, Shamsu Habib Treasure, and Safiyanu Musa as Auditor.
Others who gave goodwill messages include the representative of the General Manager KTTV, Chairman Katsina State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and his counterpart at National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Chairmen of Companion FM and Correspondent Chapel among others.
In a related development, the Kanwan Katsina commended the Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda for appointing Alhaji Abubakar Gambo Danmusa as Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Enlightenment.

The monarch in the statement described Alhaji Danmusa who he has known and worked with during his service with the Nigeria Customs as hardworking and dedicated to duties.
Alhaji Danmusa who was a graduate of Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano was a seasoned public servant and will use his wealth of experience to enlighten the public on government policies and programs.
The Kanwan Katsina while congratulating the new Special Assistant on his appointment assured of continued support and collaboration of the office of the District head at all times.
