Detectives of the Igbesa Division, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested Chidi Ebere (27) for the alleged murder of a commercial motorcyclist, Sunday Ogbu (36), in Igbesa, Ogun State.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, at about 7 a.m. The suspect reportedly boarded the victim\u2019s motorcycle and attacked him in an attempt to steal the bike. A violent struggle ensued, during which a witness raised the alarm. Police officers quickly arrived at the scene, rescued the victim, and rushed him to the hospital, where he was later confirmed dead by the attending doctor.<\/p>\n
The suspect was apprehended immediately, and both the motorcycle and the knife used in the attack were recovered as exhibits. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for thorough investigation and prosecution.<\/p>\n
Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, condemned the act, assuring the public that justice will be served. He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
