Adeleye Falade has officially taken office as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG). He assumed the role on Wednesday at the company\u2019s Corporate Head Office in Port Harcourt, succeeding Philip Mshelbila, who was recently appointed Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). <\/p>\n
Falade brings nearly three decades of global oil and gas experience, with extensive leadership exposure across the LNG and petroleum value chain. His career within the Shell Group spans upstream and midstream operations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Africa, where he built a distinguished record in production optimisation, engineering, operational excellence, business improvement, and change management. <\/p>\n
Prior to his appointment, Falade served as Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad from April 2024, leading one of the world\u2019s established LNG producers. In 2023, he was Country Chair for Shell Namibia, providing strategic leadership and stakeholder engagement for Shell\u2019s operations. <\/p>\n
Falade is no stranger to NLNG. Between May 2019 and September 2023, he was General Manager, Production, ensuring reliability, plant performance, and operational safety across NLNG\u2019s Bonny Island facilities. Earlier, from 2015 to 2018, he served as Operations Manager before moving to The Hague as Regional Asset Management System Implementation Manager at Shell, where he oversaw global deployment of efficiency-focused asset management systems. <\/p>\n
He holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical\/Electronics Engineering from the University of Ibadan and an MBA from Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), a registered member of COREN, and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). <\/p>\n
Falade assumes leadership at a critical juncture for NLNG and the global LNG industry. The company recently secured long-term Gas Supply Agreements with six third-party suppliers to strengthen feedgas supply to its Bonny Island trains. Meanwhile, the Train 7 expansion project is nearing completion, a development expected to boost NLNG\u2019s production capacity by 35% and reinforce Nigeria\u2019s position in the global LNG market. <\/p>\n
