Onyeka, Controller of the Command, emphasized that the handover reflects the collective commitment to safeguarding public health and national security. He explained that the three 20-foot containers were thoroughly examined and found to contain expired drugs.  <\/p>\n<p>According to the Controller, the containers include units with number PONU031958\/6 and MSKU711656\/0, which were found to contain expired Tramadol tablets. He hinted that the examination of the consignments revealed that the first container contained 86 cartons of Vingil Tramadol BP 50mg, while the second container had 250 cartons of the same expired Tramadol product.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the third container, with number MSKU413519\/1, was found to contain 370 cartons of expired Diclofenac Sodium BP 50mg tablets without valid NAFDAC registration number, making the consignment illegal and dangerous for public use.<\/p>\n<p>Comptroller Onyeka noted that the Command has achieved significant results in recent months through intensified cargo examination, intelligence gathering, and enforcement operations. He assured that Customs remains proactive in intercepting prohibited goods, including controlled pharmaceuticals, arms, narcotics, and other items that threaten public safety and economic stability.  <\/p>\n<p>He praised the resilience of his officers and expressed gratitude to Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for reforms that have strengthened operations. Onyeka also commended NAFDAC and other sister agencies for their cooperation, stressing that inter-agency synergy has been crucial in preventing fake, substandard, and expired drugs from reaching consumers.  <\/p>\n<p>Responding, Mr. Kareem Taiwo Adekunle, Chief Regulatory Officer of NAFDAC\u2019s Investigation and Inspection Directorate, applauded the collaboration between the two agencies.
