The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, honoured distinguished officers while announcing its record-breaking revenue performance for 2025. <\/p>\n
Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka, revealed that the Command collected \u20a61.6 trillion, exceeding its \u20a61.524 trillion benchmark. He described the achievement as a significant leap forward, attributing it to teamwork, efficiency, and transparency. <\/p>\n
\u201cA tree can never make a forest. I could not have done it alone. Officers deserve appreciation for their tireless efforts,\u201d Onyeka said. <\/p>\n
The awards ceremony, he explained, reflects a new culture within the Service\u2014one that values diligence, professionalism, and shared responsibility. <\/p>\n
Onyeka highlighted reforms aimed at improving trade facilitation and internal efficiency, particularly measures to eliminate unnecessary delays in file processing. <\/p>\n
\u201cFiles should not be held unnecessarily. If there are issues, let them be clearly identified and addressed. If you are not sure what to do, ask,\u201d he emphasized. <\/p>\n
He also noted that the recent launch of the Time Release Study report by Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi has reinforced the Command\u2019s commitment to faster, legitimate trade while maintaining strict compliance. <\/p>\n
Paying tribute to his predecessor, Deputy Comptroller-General Dera Nnadi, Onyeka described his tenure as \u201csuperb,\u201d acknowledging the solid foundation it provided for current successes. <\/p>\n
The CAC expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General, stakeholders, partners, and officers for their confidence in the Command despite economic and operational challenges.
