Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is reportedly championing a strategic alliance between Mr. Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ahead of Nigeria\u2019s 2027 presidential election. According to credible sources, both men have formed a joint committee to coordinate their efforts under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).<\/p>\n
Peter Obi, who placed third in the 2023 presidential election as the Labour Party (LP) candidate, officially joined the ADC in December 2025. Kwankwaso, who came fourth under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has expressed openness to joining another party\u2014provided he secures either the presidential or vice-presidential ticket.<\/p>\n
The proposed Obi\u2013Kwankwaso ticket is said to be in an advanced stage, with Obasanjo playing a pivotal role. An ADC official confirmed that Obasanjo not only endorsed Obi\u2019s defection but also encouraged collaboration with Kwankwaso.
