The Nigeria Customs Service successfully concluded its 2025 Public Relations Officers Workshop in Kano on Thursday, 26 September, with a strong call for professionalism, innovation, and resilience in shaping the Service\u2019s public image and fostering stakeholder trust.<\/p>\n
Held over five days, the workshop convened Public Relations Officers, communication experts, and seasoned facilitators to enhance strategic communication, promote transparency, and align PR efforts with the Service\u2019s modernization agenda. Participants engaged in dynamic sessions that bridged theory and practice, offering fresh insights into contemporary communication trends.<\/p>\n
Assistant Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, National PRO of Customs, commended the collaborative spirit that defined the workshop. \u201cI believe whatever success we have recorded is a product of teamwork. One cannot do it alone. This is our success,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The closing ceremony featured a dinner in honour of officers, stakeholders, and resource persons. Representing the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller Abubakar Dalhatu of the Kano\/Jigawa Command shared positive feedback from attendees. \u201cA professor revealed to me that, as a result of this workshop, the perception of Nigeria Customs Service has changed from negative to positive. I was glad to hear this,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming the Service\u2019s commitment to consistent and credible communication, the CGC emphasized: \u201cThe message for all PROs of the Nigeria Customs Service is that we still have many upright officers with integrity. It is our responsibility and duty to continue to push this narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n
The workshop concluded with a cultural and educational tour of Kano State, including visits to Minjibir Park, Gidan Makama Museum of Kano, reinforcing the Service\u2019s dedication to both professional development and cultural appreciation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
