Just 24 hours after stepping into his role as Customs Area Controller for Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba has made history\u2014delivering a staggering \u20a620.1 billion in revenue on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.<\/p>\n
According to SC John Tunde Ayagbalo, the command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, this record-breaking figure is the highest daily revenue ever recorded by any command in the Nigeria Customs Service under the Unified Customs Management System, known as B\u2019Odogwu. It surpasses the previous high of \u20a618 billion and signals Oshoba\u2019s intent to exceed expectations from day one.<\/p>\n
In his first meeting with senior officers, Oshoba praised past achievements but made it clear that the bar has been raised. He urged his team to intensify their efforts, emphasizing that results\u2014not rhetoric\u2014are the true measure of commitment and excellence.<\/p>\n
He reminded them that outstanding results are the real proof of hard work, dedication and uncompromising disposition to duty and that he believes they could do better than they did before his arrival. <\/p>\n
On the recent \u20a620.1b collection in a day, Comptroller Oshoba said it’s only the beginning of greater exploits and it’s not time for celebration because he foresees greater achievements for the flagship command of NCS under his leadership<\/p>\n
Oshoba described B\u2019Odogwu as a cornerstone for building a smarter, more efficient customs system\u2014one that strengthens Nigeria\u2019s position as Africa\u2019s leading economy and trade hub.<\/p>\n
Despite the monumental revenue feat, Oshoba remained focused as he stressed:<\/p>\n
“I commend my team and stakeholders for this great milestone of \u20a620.1b collection in one day just 24 hours after I resumed here. It’s not the time to clap yet because clapping means removing your two hands from work to celebrate. <\/p>\n
“Let’s leave the celebration and applause for days ahead when we shall have future achievements of surpassing targets, curbing any attempted smuggling or concealment and treating trade with productive speed without compromising our integrity. I believe in Action, which speaks louder than words<\/p>\n
