The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB), at its 63rd regular meeting held on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, chaired by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, approved key leadership appointments and promotions across the Service.<\/p>\n
To fill vacancies and ensure equitable representation across Nigeria\u2019s six geopolitical zones, the Board appointed:<\/p>\n
Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs):
\n– AB Mohammed \u2013 North-West
\n– GO Omale \u2013 North-Central
\n– OC Orbih \u2013 South-South
\n– D Nnadi \u2013 South-East <\/p>\n
Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs):
\n– MP Binga \u2013 North-East
\n– CA Awo \u2013 South-East
\n– AB Shuaibu \u2013 North-Central
\n– AT Abe \u2013 North-West
\n– K Mohammed \u2013 North-West
\n– B Mohammed \u2013 North-West
\n– TM Daniyan \u2013 North-Central
\n– B Oramalugo \u2013 South-East
\n– OP Olaniyan \u2013 South-West
\n– B Olomu \u2013 South-West
\n– IK Oladeji \u2013 South-West
\n– CC Dim \u2013 South-East <\/p>\n
These appointments comply with the Federal Character Policy under Section 14(4) of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023.<\/p>\n
The Board also approved:
\n– Promotion of 3,312 senior officers from Comptroller of Customs (CC) to Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II)
\n– Promotion of 202 junior officers from Assistant Inspector (AIC) to Customs Assistant I (CA I) <\/p>\n
These reflect the Service\u2019s commitment to merit-based advancement and recognition of excellence.<\/p>\n
The Board reaffirmed NCS\u2019s active role in the National Single Window (NSW) initiative, including:
\n– Deployment of WCO-accredited officers
\n– Business process development
\n– Vendor selection and ICT support <\/p>\n
With backing from Trade Modernisation Project Limited, the Service is accelerating integration and modernization efforts.<\/p>\n
Key milestones include:
\n– Wider rollout of the Unified Customs Management System (B\u2019Odogwu)
\n– Arrival of six scanners, including FS6000
\n– Procurement of Electronic Cargo Tracking System (ECTS)
\n– Setup of Centralised Image Analysis System (CIAS)
\n– Cybersecurity upgrades and stakeholder onboarding .<\/p>\n
Between January and June 2025, NCS generated \u20a63.68 trillion in revenue\u2014exceeding projections by \u20a6390 billion (11.85%) and achieving 55.93% of its annual target. This reflects improved compliance, reforms, and tech-driven operations.<\/p>\n
The Board approved the demotion of two officers for misconduct and reinstated two others after case reviews, reinforcing its commitment to fairness and accountability.<\/p>\n
Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR congratulated all newly appointed and promoted officers, urging them to uphold the Service\u2019s values of innovation, transparency, and excellence.
