Retired Comptroller James Folorunsho Ojo has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the extension of the tenure of Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR. He described the move as a well-deserved recognition of Adeniyi\u2019s exceptional leadership and transformative impact on the Service.<\/p>\n
Ojo praised CGC Adeniyi for his outstanding contributions to revenue growth and institutional development within the NCS, noting that his tenure has been marked by strategic reforms and global recognition.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis extension is a welcome development. CGC Adeniyi is a quintessential career officer who has distinguished himself both nationally and internationally in Customs administration,\u201d Ojo stated.<\/p>\n
He highlighted Adeniyi\u2019s recent election to a key position within the World Customs Organization (WCO) as further evidence of his leadership excellence and global standing.<\/p>\n
Ojo expressed confidence that the extension will allow Adeniyi to consolidate ongoing reforms, complete critical modernization projects, and advance Nigeria\u2019s commitments under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe this decision will enable CGC Adeniyi to fully implement initiatives such as the National Single Window Project and drive the modernization of the Nigeria Customs Service,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Calling on officers and personnel of the NCS to rally behind the CGC, Ojo emphasized the importance of unity and loyalty in achieving the Service\u2019s strategic goals.<\/p>\n
