The Port and Terminal Multiservice Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) recorded a significant milestone by generating \u20a6204.7 billion in revenue during the first half of 2025. This marks a 34.1% increase over the \u20a6152.6 billion collected in the same period last year.<\/p>\n
Comptroller Tenny Daniyan, PTML\u2019s Customs Area Controller, shared the update on July 16, attributing the growth to strategic reforms led by Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR and stronger collaboration with industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n
The controller described the half year report as a remarkable boost in revenue as it’s more than \u20a652 billion above last year\u2019s figures.<\/p>\n
He emphasized the role of the newly launched B\u2019Odogwu trade platform in driving performance, noting that PTML has collected over \u20a6283.8 billion since the software was introduced in November 2024.<\/p>\n
Comptroller Daniyan stressed that the improvements being witnessed since rolling out the B\u2019Odogwu system have been substantial, adding that despite initial teething challenges, the platform is now delivering results.<\/p>\n
From January to June 2025, PTML handled 52 vessel arrivals, processed 13,431 containers, and conducted 30,400 cargo assessments. He credited this operational success to the commitment and efficiency of officers across all units.<\/p>\n
He’s proud of his officers, saying that whether in Enforcement, Post Clearance Audit, CIU, or other units\u2014the officers have been articulate and dedicated.
\nHe noted that given the current economic climate, collecting this level of revenue is no small feat. We deserve kudos.<\/p>\n
The Controller highlighted how the B\u2019Odogwu platform\u2014developed locally\u2014has also helped Nigeria conserve foreign exchange by eliminating reliance on foreign software providers.<\/p>\n
He declared that under B\u2019Odogwu, the command is not just generating revenue but also saving money that would\u2019ve gone to foreign partners, but now stays within the Nigerian economy.<\/p>\n
As PTML was the pilot site for the B\u2019Odogwu rollout, Daniyan stressed the importance of continuous stakeholder engagement and training.<\/p>\n
“The practical hands-on sessions have paid off as most of our stakeholders are knowledgeable about the system and its workings. These training sessions are in batches and still ongoing to ensure everyone is carried along,” he quipped.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
