The Network of Nigerian Maritime Journalists (NNMJ) has applauded Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi\u2019s historic election as Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO), calling it a monumental achievement for Nigeria and global customs leadership.<\/p>\n
In a joint statement signed by NNMJ Chairman Dele Aderibigbe and Secretary Moses Ebosele, the group described Adeniyi\u2019s June 28 appointment in Brussels as a defining milestone. He is the first Nigerian to hold this esteemed role since the WCO\u2019s establishment 73 years ago.<\/p>\n
The NNMJ lauded Adeniyi’s visionary leadership, quoting former U.S. President John Quincy Adams:
\n“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”<\/p>\n
Under Adeniyi\u2019s guidance, the NCS has evolved into one of Nigeria\u2019s top-performing revenue-generating agencies, second only to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC). The NNMJ commended his forward-thinking reforms and dedication to transparency and modernization.<\/p>\n
“On behalf of all maritime journalists in Nigeria, the NNMJ congratulates CGC Adeniyi for bringing pride and honour to our nation,” the statement read.<\/p>\n
