The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the successful
\nissuance of the first Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) under the B\u2019Odogwu
\n(Unified Customs Management System), marking a significant milestone in the
\nService\u2019s commitment to technology-driven trade reforms. <\/p>\n
This achievement follows the recent strategic engagement between the
\nComptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, and the Governor
\nof Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, where both institutions
\nreaffirmed their commitment to seamless trade processes, enhanced revenue
\ncollection, and improved financial integration. <\/p>\n
The B\u2019Odogwu system, developed as an indigenous replacement for the
\nNigerian Integrated Customs Information System (NICIS II), is designed to
\nmodernise Customs operations, enhance efficiency in trade documentation, and
\nstrengthen inter-agency collaboration. During the pilot phase at Port and Terminal
\nMulti-Services Limited (PTML) Customs Area Command and beyond,
\nstakeholders, including other government agencies, were actively engaged to ensure
\na smooth transition. <\/p>\n
The issuance of the first PAAR under B\u2019Odogwu marks the beginning of a nationwide rollout aimed at streamlining customs procedures and enhancing trade
\nfacilitation. <\/p>\n
The Service restated its commitment to ensuring that all necessary approvals and
\nintegrations with financial institutions, including Authorized Dealer Banks (ADBs),
\nare completed to enable seamless foreign exchange transactions and trade-related
\npayments. <\/p>\n
The NCS, under the leadership of the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir
\nAdewale Adeniyi MFR and his management team, expressed appreciation for the support of all
