The\u00a0Kanwan\u00a0Katsina District Head of\u00a0Ketare, Alhaji\u00a0Usman\u00a0Bello\u00a0Kankara\u00a0mni, has commended the Katsina State Government for the establishment of\u00a0Zakkat\u00a0and\u00a0Waqaf\u00a0Board.
\nThe commendation was contained in statement signed by the media aid and\u00a0Sarkin\u00a0Labarun\u00a0Kanwa Jamilu\u00a0Hashimu\u00a0Gora and made available to newsmen in Katsina. The statement quoted the\u00a0Kanwan\u00a0Katsina speaking to newsmen shortly after the Katsina State Governor\u00a0Malam\u00a0Dikko\u00a0Umar\u00a0Radda\u00a0inaugurated the district head level committee of the 34 local governments of the\u00a0state\u00a0at Government House\u00a0chamber.
\n In the interview, the\u00a0Kanwan\u00a0Katsina stated that the Katsina State Governor needs to be commended for establishing the Board and appointing
\n\u00a0Malam\u00a0Ahmad Musa Katsina as chairman and other qualified and prominent people as board members. Alhaji\u00a0Usman\u00a0Bello\u00a0Kankara\u00a0mni\u00a0explained that\u00a0Zakkat\u00a0is one of the five fillers of Islam which entails the rich given some part of their wealth to the needy and the less privileged in the society\u00a0which is a sure way of alleviating poverty.
\n In the statement, the\u00a0Kanwan\u00a0Katsina assured the state governor of his full support and \u00a0corporation\u00a0to all government policies and programs at all times and to work with the\u00a0Zakkat\u00a0and\u00a0Waqaf\u00a0Committee in fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam and\u00a0promoting Islamic values.
\nThe traditional ruler pledged to mobilize all the village heads, wards heads and the well to do in Ketare District to ensure the success of the zakkat administration in his domain and the state in general.
\nThe monarch in the \u00a0interview said the chairman of the board,\u00a0Malam\u00a0Ahmad Musa\u00a0Filin Samji\u00a0has announced that over 5000\u00a0vulnerable\u00a0people have been identified\u00a0in each local government area of the state to receive the zakat. He also added that the global chairman of the coalition\u00a0of Zakka and Waqap in Nigeria, who is also the\u00a0Sadaukin\u00a0Sokoto\u00a0Muhammad\u00a0Lawal Mai\u00a0Doki\u00a0pledged to train traditional rulers on collection and administration of\u00a0Zakkat in other to enhance their capacity.<\/p>\n
