Three people were shot in a failed attempt to assassinate the former President of United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump yesterday, Saturday.
\n One of them died while the two others were in critical conditions.
\nThe Republican presidential hopeful, Trump survived the assassination attempt as a gunman fired shots at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania.
\n Trump was rushed offstage and swamped by Secret Service agents after a bullet pierced the \u201cupper part\u201d of his right ear. He was later taken to the hospital for treatment and discharged.<\/p>\n
The male attacker was later shot dead by the Secret Service, officials said.<\/p>\n
The shooting has been condemned by Mr Trump\u2019s main opponent in the presidential election, President Joe Biden, as well as former President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n
Trump later took to his Truth Social network to express how he felt during the shooting. He said a bullet pierced the \u201cupper part\u201d of his right ear.
\n\u201cI knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin,\u201d he wrote.
\n\u201cMuch bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although the attacker has been killed, his identity and motive have yet to be disclosed as of the time of this report.<\/p>\n
In his reaction to the shooting, President Biden said, \u201cThere\u2019s no place in America for this kind of violence. Everybody must condemn it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Biden later spoke to Mr Trump, the White House said.<\/p>\n
In his reaction, former President Obama wrote on X that there \u201cis absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy.\u201d He said he was \u201crelieved that former President Trump wasn\u2019t seriously hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n
