Seyi Makinde of People&#8217;s Democratic Party (PDP) have been declared the winners of the governorship elections in their respective states by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<br \/>\nThe commission&#8217;s Returning Officer in Ogun State, Professor Adebowale, Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan announced that<br \/>\nAbiodun emerged victorious as he defeated his main challenger, Hon.Oladipupo Adebutu of People&#8217;s Democratic Party (PDP) by scoring 276, 298 votes while the PDP scored 262, 383.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Ibikunle Amosun\u2013backed candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Olubiyi Otegbeye,<br \/>\ncame a distant third with 94,754 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde surprisingly defeated APC\u2019s Teslim Folarin with 563,617 votes against 251,230 votes scored by Folarin.<br \/>\nAdebayo Adelabu of Accord Party came a distant third with 38,757 votes.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Adelabu has acknowledged Makinde&#8217;s victory by sending congratulatory message to the re-elected governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and his counterpart in Oyo State, Gov.
