The Founder of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Okechwuku Aniebonam, has disclosed that he gave the platform of the party to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso to contest the 2023 Presidential election at no costs.
\nSpeaking on the sidelines of the prayer session organized by the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), the parent body of the party on Thursday in Apapa, Lagos, Aniebonam stated that Kwankwaso and his co-travellers must have gone to other parties where they could not meet the demands before coming to him.
\nHe asserted that aside giving the platform free of charge to Kwankwaso, he spent a lot of his hard earned money on Kwankwaso’s campaigns.
\nHe recalled that he spent about N50 million on hosting the NNPP flagbearer at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos during the campaign period.
\nHe also claimed that he gave N250,000 to each of the governorship candidate of the party aside other expenses incurred by him.
\nThe founder said he was miffed by what he saw on television of those who joined the association just a year ago changing the logo and constitution of the party.<\/p>\n
On the prayer session, he maintained that the purpose was about seeking the face of God for peace in the party.
\n\u201dToday\u2019s event is organised to seek God\u2019s intervention in the crisis in the party and to also call for peace,\u201d he stated.
\nHe declared that he is a child of God divinely led to establish the party.
\nAccording to him, the first question he asked Kwankwaso was whether he’s a child God ready to take up divine role in the party to which he said the politician answered in the affirmative.
\nAniebonam stressed that as the founder of NNPP and founder of NAGAFF he would not like to see his house in turmoil, especially on trivia issues.
\nHe stated that the internal crisis in the party is avoidable, hence the call for the prayer session for God’s intervention.<\/p>\n
Speaking earlier, the compere of the event and Deputy National President of NAGAFF, Fwdr. Simeon Nwonu noted that NAGAFF, established by Dr. Aniebonam through divine order, believes so much in the power of God to turn things around.
\nHe maintained that God has done it before and will do it again.
\n\u201dIt is our hope that God shall intervene in the internal wranglings of the NNPP and also give Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso the wisdom to retrace his steps in the issues concerning NNPP and his role therein.
\nHe said that God that intervened when they ran to Him for intervention at the Supreme Court over Kano State governorship tussle will also answer them over the internal crisis of the party.
\nIn the sermon he titled \u201cControversy\u201d, the officiating minister, Pastor Joel Ozor noted that from the beginning of the earth controversy had existed especially when there’s going to be greatness.
\nHe cited many scriptures dealing with controversy in the Bible, assuring that regardless of the present controversy, the party will come out strong.
\n The preacher noted that the vision of NNPP was given to Dr. Aniebonam, adding that those whose presence in the party is covering its glory will be removed by God.
