The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara mni, has called on the Katsina State Government to establish FM Radio Stations across the three Senatorial zones of Katsina, Daura and Funtua.
\n\tAlhaji Usman Bello made the call while delivering a goodwill message as the Royal Father of the Day at the twenty twenty four World Radio Day Celebrations organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Katsina State Council.
\nAt the event which took place at the NUJ Secretariat in Katsina, the Monarch explained that establishing State owned FM Radio Stations will go a long way in generating revenue in to government coffers, create employment opportunities and provide wider outreach of government policies and programs at the grassroots.
\nThe Kanwan Katsina who is a retired comptroller of Customs congratulated the NUJ Katsina State Council for joining the rest of the world to celebrate this year\u2019s Radio Day with the theme \u201cRadio and Democracy\u201d.
\nThe Monarch who is the Patron of the Union called for training and retraining for working journalists in the state and improved welfare to boast capacity and morale.
\nAlhaji Usman Bello who used the occasion to commend the efforts of the Dikko Radda led administration for establishing the Katsina Watch Corp which were deployed to the seven frontline local governments battling with insecurity also called on the government to consolidate on the security gains and not to relent on its efforts as it has been yielding positive result.
\nHighlights of the event include paper presentation by members of the academia on the importance of Radio and presentation of awards to some outstanding Radio personalities in the State.<\/p>\n
