The Zonal Coordinator, Zone A of Nigeria Customs Service, ACG Mohammed Bello Jibo has charged decorated Comptroller Ahmadu Bello Shuaibu, Customs Area Controller of Ogun 1 Command and other officers decorated with their new ranks on Tuesday to increase their dedication to the service.
\nJibo gave the charge at Customs Training School, Ikeja, Lagos during the decorations of newly promoted Controllers, Deputy Controllers and Assistant Controllers in Zone A.
\nThe Zonal Coordinator, while congratulating them, noted that the promotion should be seen as an honour that should be followed with trust which should be motivation for working harder.
\n Jibo averred that the CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi is selflessly committed to officers well being and will continue to ensure the welfare of officers and men.
\nHe stated that the promotions came with additional responsibilities and that it should propel all the beneficiaries to be dedicated and committed to the realization of the goals of the NCS under its present management team.
\nRecall that two ACGs and some Controllers were were decorated last week Thursday, January 4th in Abuja by the Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, 19th December, 2023, the Board of Customs, during its 58th regular meeting announced the promotion of
\ntwo thousand two hundred and nine senior officers.
\nAmong the promoted senior officers are Comptrollers Ahmadu Bello Shuaibu of Ogun 1 Customs Command and Kehinde Ejibunu of Federal Operations Unit, Zone A, Lagos.
\n The board also
\nconfirmed the appointment of ACG Florence Nano Ogar-Modey and ACG Queen Ogubudu as substantive members of the NCS Management
\nTeam.<\/p>\n
The breakdown of promoted officers is as follows:
\nInspector of Customs (IC) to Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II) – 348,
\nASC II to ASC I – 321, ASC I to Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) – 355,
\nDSC to Superintendent of Customs (SC) – 207, SC to Chief Superintendent of
\nCustoms (CSC) – 500, CSC to Assistant Comptroller (AC) – 333, AC to Deputy
\nComptroller (DC) – 78, and DC to Customs Comptroller (CC) – 67. Additionally, the board
\napproved special promotions for fourteen officers in recognition of their exceptional performance in various assigned responsibilities.<\/p>\n
Among the newly promoted Comptrollers are AB Shuaib, TM Daniyan, F Fajana, N Isyaku, MV
\nUmana, AC Nwobi, F Abdulqadir, HK Ejibunu, FM Ojiofor, IN Aliyu, MD
\nMalah, EO Oshoba, JK Oladeji, E Luka, AP Daruaku, FM Ojeifor, IN Nwokorie, EJ Harrison and others.
\n Comptroller-General Adeniyi had expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the appointed\/promoted officers and further urged them
\nto redouble their efforts in fulfilling the critical roles of revenue generation,
\ntrade facilitation, and suppression of smuggling.
\n This, he said, will enhance the NCS’s pivotal role in bolstering Nigeria’s socio-economic well-being.<\/p>\n
