Recently promoted officers of Nigeria Customs Service will be decorated at the Customs headquarters, Abuja on Friday, January 5, 2024.
\nAmong the two thousand two hundred and nine senior officers whose promotions were announced by the Board of the Service during its 58th regular
\nmeeting held on Tuesday, 19 December 2023 are Comptrollers Ahmadu Bello Shuaib of Ogun 1 Customs Command and Kehinde Ejibunu of Federal Operations Unit, Zone A, Lagos.
\n The board also
\nconfirmed the appointment of ACG Florence Nano Ogar-Modey and ACG Queen Ogubudu as substantive members of the NCS Management
\nTeam.
\nWhile the senior officers will be decorated at Abuja headquarters of the Service the junior officers will have their decorations done at their respective commands across the country.
\nComptroller General Adewale Adeniyi and members of the Customs management team are expected to decorate the newly promoted senior officers.<\/p>\n
It would be recalled that a press statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer of the Service, CSC Abdullahi Maiwada, late December last year revealed the comprehensive promotion list which encompassed both General Duty (GD)
\nand Support Staff (SS) personnel who demonstrated outstanding performance in the 2023 promotion exercise.
\nThe breakdown of promoted officers is as follows:
\nInspector of Customs (IC) to Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II) – 348,
\nASC II to ASC I – 321, ASC I to Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) – 355,
\nDSC to Superintendent of Customs (SC) – 207, SC to Chief Superintendent of
\nCustoms (CSC) – 500, CSC to Assistant Comptroller (AC) – 333, AC to Deputy
\nComptroller (DC) – 78, and DC to Customs Comptroller (CC) – 67. Additionally, the board
\napproved special promotions for fourteen officers in recognition of their exceptional performance in various assigned responsibilities.<\/p>\n
Among the newly promoted Comptrollers are AB Shuaib, TM Daniyan, F Fajana, N Isyaku, MV
\nUmana, AC Nwobi, F Abdulqadir, HK Ejibunu, FM Ojiofor, IN Aliyu, MD
\nMalah, EO Oshoba, JK Oladeji, E Luka, AP Daruaku, FM Ojeifor, IN Nwokorie, EJ Harrison and others.
\n Comptroller-General Adeniyi had expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the appointed\/promoted officers and further urged them
\nto redouble their efforts in fulfilling the critical roles of revenue generation,
\ntrade facilitation, and suppression of smuggling.
