More sufferings await Nigerians in their quest to deposit their old naira notes of N500 and N1000 denominations which the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had declared illegal tender. Reason being that fraudsters commonly called yahoo boys have generated their own fake CBN portals in order to hack into accounts of people wanting to return old notes to the apex bank.
\nA victim who googled and saw a CBN portal which he opened to deposit cash has had all the money in his account withdrawn.
\nThis shows that fake CBN portals have been generated by Nigerian hackers.
\nMany may fall for this trap as CBN insists that it has not authorized any commercial bank to collect old notes on its behalf.
