The Western Marine Customs Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, under the able leadership of Comptroller Odaudu Ada Salefu, has recorded 26 seizures with the Duty Paid Value of N118,581,335.00 in the first half of 2023.<\/p>\n
However, the command had 18 seizures in 2022 with higher Duty Paid Value of N239,034,300.00.<\/p>\n
A breakdown of the seizures for the half year revealed that one seizure was recorded in January, 2023 with the Duty Paid Value of N506,010.00 as against four seizures recorded in the same period under review with the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N19, 634,800.00.<\/p>\n
In February, the command recorded five seizures with the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N20, 458,400 as against four seizures recorded in the same period last year at the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N3, 904,000.00.<\/p>\n
In the month of March, the command made eight seizures with the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N21,767,950.00 as against four seizures recorded in the corresponding period of last year with a huge Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N159,087,500.00.<\/p>\n
In the month of April, the command recorded four seizures with the Duty Paid Value DPV of N3,594,375,000.00 compared to two seizures recorded in the same period in 2022 at the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N20,034,000.00.<\/p>\n
In the month of May, the command recorded Seven seizures with the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N66,814,600.00 as against three seizures recorded in the corresponding month of last year at the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N22,578,000.00.<\/p>\n
In conclusion, the command recorded only one seizure in the month of June, with the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N5,400,000.00 as against one seizure recorded in June last year with the Duty Paid Value DPV of N13,796,000.00.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
