The Ogun State People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) Sagamu Constituency 2 candidate, in the just concluded House of Assembly election, Honourable Ayodele Abiodun Olapeju has withdrawn Tribunal case challenging the victory of All Progressives Congress candidate, Honourable Adeniran Ademola popularly known as Sapele.<\/p>\n
Recall that Hon. Olapeju Abiodun Ayodele, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Shagamu Constituency 2, Makun, Ogun State, had earlier accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of bribing some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upload fake results to the result viewing portal.<\/p>\n
Ayodele had alleged that the action was led by the APC House of Representatives members of the constituency together with some chieftains of the party in the state.<\/p>\n
He cried out that INEC had announced Ademola Adeniran of the APC as the winner of the assembly election in the constituency during election.<\/p>\n
Explaining how the manipulation allegedly took place, Ayodele said the APC members bribed and colluded with some INEC officials to upload results from units where election was cancelled due to disruption by thugs loyal to the party.<\/p>\n
Few weeks after elections, it was also reported that Ayodele narrowly escaped kidnapping and assasination in his house at Ewuga area of Sagamu.<\/p>\n
Hon. Olapeju confirmed that his decision is personal as he has no choice other than to withdraw the case from court.<\/p>\n
\u201cGood day my dear brothers and sister. I\u2019ve enjoyed the last two years with you and I have no regrets knowing you all.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI will like to inform you all that I have decided to drop my aspirations and move on with my life at this point. Therefore, I will like my tribunal application be withdrawn.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the grace of God that I am still alive to type this heartfelt messages today. I could\u2019ve died the day I was attacked at my home but God said I wasn\u2019t going to die that night.\u201d<\/p>\n
