In a bid to boost internal revenue and support its members, the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has announced plans to reintroduce ticketing for all containers exiting Nigerian ports. The initiative aims to generate funds to sustain chapter operations and provide welfare for retired and elderly members.
This development was revealed on Monday, December 22, 2025, during a special prayer session held to dedicate the chapter’s newly acquired secretariat. Chief Femi Anifowoshe, Zonal Coordinator for the Western Zone of ANLCA, emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency, noting that terminal operators and Customs authorities have not extended financial support to customs brokers and freight forwarders.
“Many of our elder members are struggling. This initiative is a way to care for them and ensure our chapter remains active and effective,” Anifowoshe stated. He called on sister associations to rally behind the move, describing it as a bold step toward financial independence.
The event, marked by traditional kolanut breaking and intercessory prayers in Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa, was attended by members, elders, and religious leaders. Evangelists Charles Ugochukwu Emeka delivered a sermon based on Psalm 103:1-5, urging members to remain grateful and united, and to prioritize God in their endeavors.
Chapter Chairman Chief Emeka Chukwumalu expressed gratitude for the new secretariat, describing it as a hub for members to connect, relax, and collaborate. He reaffirmed his vision to secure a permanent site for the chapter and prayed for prosperity, protection, and continued growth for all members.
The gathering concluded with festive wishes for a joyful Christmas and a prosperous New Year, setting a hopeful tone for the chapter’s future.
