Apapa Customs Celebrates Promotion of 200 Officers

In a ceremony held at the Apapa Command headquarters on Thursday, the Nigeria Customs Service decorated 200 newly promoted officers, marking a significant milestone in their careers following recent promotion examinations.

Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, the Customs Area Controller, led the decoration event and commended the officers for their dedication and hard work. He emphasized that the promotions reflect the Service’s recognition of excellence and commitment to duty.

“Your new ranks come with greater responsibility,” Oshoba stated. “You must uphold the highest ethical standards and deliver impactful results that justify the confidence reposed in you.”

The breakdown of the promotions includes:
– 8 Deputy Comptrollers elevated to Comptroller
– 30 Assistant Comptrollers promoted to Deputy Comptroller
– 35 Superintendents advanced to Chief Superintendent of Customs

Oshoba urged the officers to see their new positions not just as rewards, but as calls to action—demanding smarter work, stronger leadership, and unwavering integrity.
