The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Katsina, has extended warm birthday wishes to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Kankara Bello mni, Kanwan Katsina III and District Head of Ketare, as he marked his 68th birthday on September 1, 2025.
In a heartfelt message signed by the General Manager, Alhaji Muhammed Lawan Baba, NTA Katsina praised the revered monarch for his unwavering dedication to excellence and humanity. Describing him as a “Builder of Humanity,” the GM commended Alhaji Bello’s legacy of patriotism, wisdom, and transformative leadership.
“As you celebrate your birthday joyfully, I join millions who pour their goodwill messages on your birthday. As you clock 68 years in good health on 1st September, 2025, the years ahead will be unique, superb, and all encompassing in your life. Happy birthday Sir!” Alhaji Baba wrote.

Former colleagues from the 1982 Nigeria Customs Service intake, 1981 ABU Zaria class, and 1974 Government Secondary School Malumfashi cohort honored his mentorship and contributions to national service.

Born into the esteemed Nadabo family of Kankara on September 1, 1957, Alhaji Bello’s journey began at Central Primary School Kankara, continued through Government Secondary School Malumfashi, and culminated in a Political Science degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
His distinguished career in the Nigeria Customs Service spanned over two decades, rising to the rank of Comptroller in 2009. Known for his integrity and innovation, he introduced reforms such as duty payments on smoked fish imports and earned accolades as Best PRO at Apapa and Tincan Island Ports.
In 2013, he joined the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), serving as Vice Chairman of Study Group One and participating in global leadership training in the U.S.
Since his retirement in 2017, Alhaji Bello has served as Kanwan Katsina III, bringing transformative change to Ketare through initiatives in education, healthcare, agriculture, youth development, and security.
As Heritage Chairman of AANI Katsina Chapter, he continues to champion national development and policy excellence.
