The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command( KLTC) of Nigeria Customs Service has achieved a significant growth of 101% in revenue generation in the year 2024.
The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Joy Edeldouk, disclosed this during the decoration ceremony of newly promoted officers in the command.
According to the controller, the Command collected a total sum of ₦107,182,674,904 in 2024 which doubled the sum of ₦53,429,613,592 generated in 2023.
She noted that the impressive revenue growth could be attributed to the Command’s strategic efforts to strengthen revenue collection, improve compliance, and enhance operational efficiency.
Edeldouk declared that the success can be traced to several key factors, including:
*Strategic Initiatives: Implementing streamlined processes, leveraging technology, and ensuring excellent stakeholder engagement to facilitate legitimate trade.
*Intelligence-Driven Enforcement: Utilizing data analytics and intelligence gathering to identify and combat smuggling, fraud, Android other customs offenses.
*Capacity Building: Providing regular training and development programs for officers to enhance their skills, knowledge, and professionalism.
*Stakeholder Engagement: Fostering collaborative relationships with importers, sister agencies, and other stakeholders to promote compliance and facilitate trade.
She revealed the intention of the command to implement robust risk management systems and data analytics to enhance revenue collection in 2025.

The controller disclosed that 37 officers of the command were newly promoted. The promoted officers include:
4 Comptrollers
3 Deputy Comptrollers
5 Assistant Comptrollers
7 Chief Superintendents of Customs
Others across different ranks.
She expressed her pride in the promoted officers’ dedication and hard work.
