The Federal Government has approved another bailout fund for payment of five months salary arrears for staff of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria ( CRFFN).
Announcing this in his new year message to maritime stakeholders, the Registrar/ CEO of CRFFN, Mr. Igwe Kingsley, sincerely emphatised with the entire workforce of the Council who until recently endured the hardship of prolonged non payment of salaries.
The CRFFN boss recalled that it was through the timely and compassionate intervention of the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy who approved bailout fund for payment of the initial 5 months salary arrears from March to July 2024. that the first bailout money was achieved. He added that the management team is working hard behind the scene to perfect all arrangement for disbursement as soon as possible. Igwe assured that with this development, welfare of CRFFN workforce under his administration is paramount to the Honourable minister.
He also pledged to enhance workplace conditions across all CRFFN offices nationwide and implement initiatives that prioritise the professional growth of staff by fostering a supportive and motivating environment.
Additionally, Igwe gave the assurance that professional training will be at the forefront of his agenda .
”We will roll out comprehensive training programme for CRFFN staff to enhance their regulatory capabilities, organise workshops, certifications and seminars tailored to the needs of freight forwarders and ensure they are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge,” he promised.
The Registrar however called for stakeholders’ support and collaboration to overcome the challenges confronting the Council to achieve the desired results.
