President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Tantita Security Services Limited and other security agencies for their commendable efforts in combating oil theft.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, conveyed the president’s appreciation while inspecting the impounded MT Kali alongside Tantita and other agencies at Oporoza.
Major General Musa, accompanied by top officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and high-ranking military personnel, expressed a strong commitment to dealing ruthlessly with oil thieves and their sponsors.

He emphasized that the apprehended vessel, MT Kali, would be destroyed as per standard practice to serve as a deterrent to potential offenders.
While addressing the media, General Christopher urged for cooperation between government and private security agencies, discouraging the creation of disaffection.
He highlighted the significance of collaboration in achieving better results, stating,
“We are here based on the report of the arrest of this ship, and it’s a major achievement. It shows that we’re committed to ensuring that we stop this criminality within the maritime domain,”he said.
General Musa also called on Nigerians to unite and contribute to ensuring safety and security in the country’s maritime industry. The collective effort, he emphasized, is essential for combating criminal activities and maintaining a secure environment.
