The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has acknowledged the efforts of three universities to absorb Nigerian returnee students from Sudan.
Dabiri-Erewa stated this when she received the Vice-Chancellor of Igbinedion University, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye in Abuja.
The institutions are Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Summit University, Offa, Kwara State and American University, The Gambia.
She promised to relay the message to returnee students and that those who are interested will follow the right procedures.
“We visited JAMB and JAMB has given conditions, processes and guidelines to follow.
“I am sure you are aware of these.
“And even if you admit them, we will need that letter that say JAMB has given them admission.
“So, we will avoid situations that after graduation they can’t go for youth service,” she added.
NiDCOM boss thanked the visiting VC for the admission offer to Nigerian students who have returned from Sudan.
“I also thank you for saying you will give a generous concession for them.”
Earlier, Prof. Ezemonye explained that the institution had programmes accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other professional bodies.
