MWUN President- General, Adeyanju, to vie for NLC’s DNP post

The President General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Abdulwaheed Adewale Adeyanju has been nominated to contest for the position of Deputy National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in the Congress’ election coming up in February 2023.
A statement issued on Thursday by the union’s media Relations Officer, Comrade Oniha Erazua, stated that the election will hold during the Congress 13th National Delegate Conference scheduled for 7th and 8th of February 2023. The statement added that Comrade Adeyanju would be slugging it out with three other candidates namely; Comrade Audi Titus Amba from the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) and Comrade Kabiru Ado Sanni from the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN).
The position of the NLC President is however being contested unopposed by Comrade Joseph Ajaero from the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE).
It would be recalled that Comrade Adeyanju was re-elected for a four-year second term in office during the union’s delegates conference, held on 26th March 2021, in Lagos.
