AFRICAN INTEGRITY MAGAZINE is set to host the 21st African Leadership Development Conference & Awards Conferment as part of ongoing efforts to promote integrity, accountability, good governance, and regional cooperation across the African continent.
The annual conference, which has remained a prominent platform for leadership development and policy dialogue for over two decades, is expected to bring together distinguished leaders, policymakers, academics, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and development advocates to discuss strategies for strengthening Pan-African institutions and advancing sustainable socio-economic growth in Africa.
This year’s conference is themed: “Repositioning Pan-African Organisations as a Vehicle for Regional Integration in Africa: Challenges and Prospects.” According to the organisers, the theme reflects the urgent need for stronger continental collaboration, institutional reforms, strategic partnerships, and collective solutions capable of driving Africa’s unity, peace, economic transformation, and sustainable development in a rapidly changing global environment.
The conference is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 16th May, 2026, by 12 noon at GADE PLACE HOTEL CONFERENCE HALL, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.
Amb Onwordi Onichabor, president/ convener said Prof. Onuchukwu Okechukwu, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, is the keynote speaker for the event. He is expected to deliver insights on the role of Pan-African organisations in fostering regional integration and sustainable development across Africa.
According to him, the conference aims to raise awareness on integrity and good governance in both public and private sectors, promote a culture of accountability and sustainable growth, encourage prudent resource management, celebrate outstanding achievements, and showcase exemplary African leaders making meaningful impacts in their professions, businesses, and communities.
As part of the event, deserving individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service will be honoured with the Pride of Africa Leadership Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award. The awards are intended to inspire ethical leadership and encourage excellence across all sectors of African society.
The organisers noted that Africa’s future depends largely on visionary leadership, institutional accountability, and collective commitment to unity and development, adding that stakeholders from government, academia, the private sector, civil society organisations, diplomatic circles, youth groups, and the media are invited to participate in the conference.
African Integrity Magazine also expressed appreciation to its partners, supporters, and stakeholders for their continued commitment to the ideals of integrity, good governance, and African development.
