The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) wishes to formally retract its earlier statement, published in some online media outlets on Monday, September 23, 2025, which incorrectly claimed that Warri Port had recorded the highest number of accidents among Nigeria’s seaports.
This assertion was based on erroneous information and should be disregarded by the general public.
In a statement issued by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN, the Union extends its sincere apologies to the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Warri, Delta State, for any inconvenience or reputational damage caused by the publication.
