The Kanwan Katsina, District Head of Ketare in Katsina State, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, mni, has offered his heartfelt condolences to the family of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, following his passing in a London hospital. He also extended sympathy to the Governor of Katsina State, Dr. Dikko Radda, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, and all Nigerians.
Alhaji Kankara, who attended the burial in Daura—President Buhari’s hometown—praised the late leader as an honest and devoted servant of the nation who championed the cause of the common man throughout his life.
While praying for the peaceful repose of the former President’s soul, the monarch urged his family to find strength in this moment of grief, emphasizing that this loss touches not only Daura and Katsina State, but the entire nation.
The solemn burial was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who led a Federal Government delegation including 25 cabinet ministers and senior officials. Governor Radda stood as the chief mourner and led the Katsina State delegation.
Also present were Heads of State from neighbouring nations including the Republic of Niger, signifying the late President’s international influence and respect.
His wife, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, was surrounded by their children and grandchildren as she received condolences from dignitaries and mourners across the country.
