LASTCOC Chairman Felicitates CGC Adeniyi on Historic WCO Election

Chairman of the Lagos State Truck and Cargo Operators Committee (LASTCOC), Alhaji Lukman R. Shittu (popularly known as Zangalo), has extended warm congratulations to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, following his unanimous election as Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council.

Alhaji Shittu who is also the Lagos State Chairman, Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), hailed the achievement as a significant milestone for Nigeria, highlighting the CGC’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to reform and modernization within the NCS. He emphasized that the implementation of the indigenous B’Odogwu IT system under Adeniyi’s watch has revolutionized customs operations—enhancing efficiency, transparency, and revenue generation.

“This victory is not just personal—it’s a collective triumph for Nigeria’s business community and a beacon of hope for African representation on the global stage,” Zangalo noted.

He urged the CGC to sustain momentum in the push for full digital transformation across the Service and prayed that divine wisdom continues to guide his leadership in this prestigious role.
