Ardova Management Commends Dangote Refinery; Promises to Increase Investment in Renewable Energy

The Management of Ardova Plc has lauded the Dangote Refinery for its giant stride towards enhancing petroleum products production in the country.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos last Thursday in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the company with a theme “60 Years Energising Progress With Endless Possibilities ” the Deputy Managing Director, Abiola Babatunde-Ojo, stated that the Dangote Refinery has assisted in resolving shortage of petroleum products across the country as many petroleum companies now undertake the products direct from the refinery complex seamlessly.

The DMD further emphasized that Ardova Plc is committed to the development of the nation by expanding its operations for Nigerians to get values and satisfaction for their money.

Enumerating the achievements of the company in the last six decades, the company’s Chief Strategist Officer, AbdulHakeem Buhari, informed that the company was able to get to the enviable position due to the diligence and resilient of its management, workforce and the shareholders.

Buhari noted that the company’s contributions to the downstream sector was unparalleled with its five hundred million dollar state of the art terminal in Lagos, a feat that positioned the company as leader in West Africa’s energy infrastructure.

He added that the company has a facility for the storage of thirty kilotons of LPG which according to him is capable of meeting sixty percent of the domestic demand in the country, stressing that the company’s investment in LPG infrastructure underscores its belief in gas as Nigeria’s bridge to a sustainable energy future.

The Managing Director of Ardova, Moshood Olajide who was overwhelmed by the achievements of the company in sixty years attributed the success recorded to the management’s vision, customer’s support and it’s ability to sustain and manage the business environment.

Olajide submitted that the company has concluded plans to increase its investment in solar energy as part of the efforts to enhance electricity supply in both urban and rural areas across the country.

‘We are not just in the business of energy, we are in the business of empowerment”.

The MD highlighted that the company’s diversification into renewable energy and solar solutions made the company’s intent to be a key player in the country’s energy transition.

Pointing out that the company has one of the highest number of petroleum outlets in the country, the Managing Director assured the public that the company is working assiduosly in ensuring that the public gets value for their money in any of their outlets.

Speaking on the petroleum pricing, he emphasised that the cost of petroleum products are calculated based on forex and the cost of crude oil, assuring that all hands are in gloves between the Federal Government and the operators in the downstream sector towards addressing the high cost of petroleum products in the country.
