Maritime Icon, Olayiwola Shittu, Clocks 74 Today As Many Extol His Virtues

Maritime icon and former National President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu (JP) is 74 years old today, Tuesday, 15th October, 2024. He was born on 15th October, 1950.

Prince Shittu who is the Managing Director/CEO of Skelas Group is renowned figure in the Nigerian maritime subsector.
He is shrewd businessman, a philanthropist and an accomplished manager of men and materials.
His tenure as the National President of ANLCA gave the association international exposure and an imposing national secretariat.

Encomiums have been pouring in from different quarters on the shipping magnate. They extolled his visionary leadership, dedication, and hard work.

The National Vice President of ANLCA, Prince Olusegun Oduntan said in his congratulatory message that Prince Shittu is a man of noble character and a source of inspiration to many. He commended Prince Shittu’s commitment to the customs brokerage profession, wishing him good health, happiness, and many more glorious years ahead.
In Oduntan’s words: “It is your birthday again and this affords us another golden opportunity to celebrate you our leader, a beacon of hope, inspiration and a man of noble character. As you celebrate another dawn in your life, I, on behalf of the National Executive Committee and members of ANLCA join your numerous admirers home and abroad to celebrate you and your incredible contributions to the customs brokerage profession and the maritime industry at large.
“Your leadership skills and visionary mindset have paved the way for aspiring leaders, showing them that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
“As you mark this milestone, I pray that God continues to bless you with good health, happiness and many more glorious years ahead.”
Dayo Azeez, a member of the ANLCA BoT, in his own birthday message,
noted that Prince Shittu, is a true icon in the maritime industry, praising his remarkable life, achievements and contributions to ANLCA and the industry.
“On this special day, I join family, friends and well wishers in celebrating your remarkable life, achievements, and contributions to our great association and the maritime industry at large.
“In my association with you over the years, you have proved to be not just a friend but a dependable ally.
“As a former President of ANLCA, you left an indelible mark, shaping the customs brokerage profession. Your dedication, expertise, and vision have inspired countless individuals and organizations.
“As you mark this milestone, I wish you many more years of good health, happiness, and continued impact.”

In his own congratulatory message, the Managing Director, Stoirin Maritime Services Ltd and member, ANLCA BoT, Adenola Mumuney described Prince Shittu’s two-term National President of ANLCA as historic, saying that his contributions have left an indelible mark.
“Your exemplary leadership, resilience, and selflessness navigated the association through challenging times. “Today, I join family and friends to celebrate your remarkable life, achievements, and the countless lives you’ve impacted.”
Speaking on behalf of members from the Northern chapters, a member of the ANLCA BoT, Utai Muhammed Sanni expressed gratitude to Prince Shittu’s unwavering commitment to the association’s growth. His birthday message reads, “I, on behalf of ANLCA members, Northern Chapters celebrate you, our esteemed President Emeritus, Prince Olayiwola Shittu on this special occasion of your 74th birthday. “Your unwavering commitment to ANLCA have been truly remarkable. We are grateful for the invaluable contributions you have made to the growth and success of our great association. “Your leadership qualities have played a significant role in restoring and strengthening the peace we now enjoy in ANLCA today.”
The National Treasurer of the association, Hajia Bola Muse, in her congratulatory message stated that Prince Shittu remains a role model to the younger generation, as he has, through sheer dint of hard work, demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity and professionalism.
“I know that your footprints will remain visible in our drive to build a strong and united ANLCA. May this milestone birthday mark the beginning of another wonderful year filled with good health, long life, and continued
wisdom,” Hajia Muse prayed.
In his congratulatory message to Prince Shittu, Publisher of People’s Forum, Pastor Tunde Ojudun, described him as his benefactor, a maritime colossus who has touched many lives and whose life and what he stands for have impacted positively on many people.
