Sequel to the statutory retirement of some members of the management team of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has approved key management appointments in acting capacity and redeployment to enhance strategic service delivery.
The appointments led to the movement of four controllers to acting ACG rank, among whom are the Controller of Seme Area Command, Comptroller Timi Bomodi, now Acting ACG Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation (EI&I), Controller of FOU Zone D, Comptroller OA Salefu, now Acting ACG, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Controller, Ogun I Area Command, Comptroller BA Makinde, now Acting ACG Human Resource Development (HRD) and Comptroller IG Umar Now Acting ACG Headquarters.
A breakdown of the appointments and redeployment saw
DCG BM JIBO redeployed to DCG Finance, Administration and Technical Services (FATS) and ACG OA ALAJOGUN hitherto in charge of Headquarters now Acting DCG Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation (EI&I).
According to the press statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer of the service, CSC Abdullahi Maiwada, these appointments are a testament to the officers’ exemplary services and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service.
The statement added that the service remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance.
While thanking the retired members of the management for their meritorious services, the Comptroller General congratulated newly appointed officers and charged them to redouble their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation, the statement further stressed.
